About Anzac Day 2027

Anzac Day 2027 is a public holiday across New Zealand, on Sunday, 25 April. Because it falls on a Sunday, people who don't usually work that day get the public holiday on Monday, 26 April instead ("Mondayisation").

Anzac Day morning is restricted: under the Shop Trading Hours Act 1990, most shops must stay closed until 1pm on 25 April, and off-licences can't sell alcohol before 1pm. From 1pm, shops set their own hours. Employment New Zealand says the trading restriction isn't Mondayised, so there's no restriction on Monday, 26 April.

NZ Post doesn't deliver letterbox mail on Sundays.
